NEW VISA PROCESS
Kilimanjaro airport has changed the process of issuing visas upon arrival. Clients arriving in Kilimanjaro without a visa will now need to complete the following process:
- Queue to obtain a Government Control Number
- Queue to pay for this at the bank
- Queue for Immigration to check paperwork and issue your visa
This change in process can take an excess of two hours. Therefore, we strongly recommend that those that still have time before they travel apply for their Tanzania 🇹🇿 visa online at www.immigration.go.tz. The online process generally issues your visa within 2-3 weeks.
We have been assured that measures are being put in place to make this quicker, but until that happens, we feel that the above recommendation is best. Also, this information is as of January 2020 and the government is changing things without notice to the tourist industry so it is best to check with the official website of Tanzania for any updates.
