African Women’s Stories and Tour Company was a dream birthed by Maggie Duncan Simbeye, a native Tanzanian woman, who is owner, interpreter, and tour guide. Because of her love of nature and extensive experience in the bush, along with a lifetime of interacting with local communities and tribes, Maggie can create an African adventure beyond your wildest dreams!
The National Geographic Traveler – The Adventure Issue 2019 October-November publication – lists Maggie’s Tour Company as a “Sustainable Africa Safari Company.”
The NGT article calls out the new generation of adventurers and the future of African safaris as women-led expeditions emerge. In a country where all guides and owners have been male only, Maggie and her company are truly part of the 21st century Tanzania.
Maggie is quoted in the article “My goal as a guide is to make every safari unique, educational, and fun.”
Many tourists are drawn to Tanzania because of it’s rich natural resources, mainly known as the “big five”. Maggie also values the equally rich experience of travelers engaging with local tribes. A past client wrote “I came with the idea that this trip was all about the animals but left knowing the people I spent time with is what it really was about for me! Yes, I saw thousands of animals and it was truly spectacular, but our experience around the campfires and spending time with the native people was priceless!”

Just a simple explanation about the registered legal name “African Women Stories and Tour Company Limited”. We have shortened the name to “Maggie’s Tour Company” to make it easier for our clients to remember. The word “Tour” in our name refers to both the Wildlife Safaris and Cultural Tours we create.
